Nissa Nightfire in the Second Life World

Deathrock at +DV8+

+DV8+ is not a new store on the grid, but is relatively new to me … first discovered through their participation in some terrific hunts. The store features gear in cyber, industrial, goth and steampunk flavors, and the delicious variety of colors makes it look like an unusual candy store 🙂 My outfit features one of their newer offerings … the Deathrock Collar. I adore the little handcuffs hanging from the collar, but there are a variety of other motifs available. Each pack comes with a variety of collar textures, one of which is itself texture-changeable! How amazingly versatile is that?!? This is a terrifically well-done collar, and I’m looking forward to checking out more of the offerings at +DV8+!

The rest of my look is fairly simple, but quality and comfortable! I especially love the thermal corset by Sn@tch. This is a casual corset, if there is such a category — and very wearable. The shading on the corset is nicely done, giving it a lovely soft look. And the hair from Dark Mouse is the perfect “not perfect” pony tail … a wonderful casual and comfortable look.

Hot Date~

When my close friend and muse, Peter Stindberg, posted his most recent, terrific photo, I was inspired to pull out one of my newer latex acquisitions. Although my photo is not nearly so artistic as his, it does give me a great chance to talk about the fashion!

Both of our outfits (minus his jacket) are from Graves, one of the finest makers of latex clothing that I’ve encountered on the grid. Latex textures can be very tricky — but Graves does it right, and these look wonderfully realistic. The sets are also extremely wearable, with lots of layering options.

I couldn’t resist one more chance to show off the newest Tuli skin, Eva, which is scheduled to be released tomorrow. I don’t usually go this pale, but the delicacy of this skin was just the contrast this outfit needed. Be sure to check out Eva at the new Journey sim tomorrow.

More Magpie Releases: Cocktail Rings~

synthetic cockail poster

I have quite fallen in love with cocktail rings — their flash, their size — and I really love them in SL, because I enjoy jewelry you can actually see at a reasonable viewing distance. I’m delighted to add a couple of cocktail rings to my jewelry line — the rings above are a more contemporary take, and those below a bit more classic (and, incidentally, match the chained blossom necklace I showed last week) All of these pieces are currently available only at the Accessories Fair!

CentoPallini and Dreams

One of the joys of participating in the Accessories Fair is having a little extra time to stroll around the fair enjoying the work of some of the terrific designers there. Today I want to share with you this delightfully whimsical necklace and earring set from CentoPallini. Made of the stuff of fine jewelry, but with a wonderfully whimsical twist of sea creatures and shells — this is an eyecatching conversation piece for any occasion. While you are waiting for the lag to taper off at the Clothing Fair, be sure to pay a visit to the Accessories Fair — its quite pleasant right now 🙂

I’ve combined the jewelry with a new offering from Dreams — an animal print corset, for a slightly less formal look. This corset is terrifically well-made, with nice textures and lovely finished edges. Right now, and thru the weekend I believe, a two-pack of this corset is the low, low price of 69L — so hurry and pick yours up!

And, of course, I’m wearing the newest Tuli skin, Eva, which everyone is buzzing about. It’s great to see Tuli back, and bringing new stuff with her! Her new sim will be opening on March 18, and you’ll be able to get Eva then.

New & Old — A Quirky LOTD

I know it has been forever since my last post — I promise to catch you up in my next post. This photo has been languishing in my queue for awhile, tho’ — so I’m going to blog it first. This somewhat quirky look started with the new-ish, super-terrific collar from Cobrahive. I love anything with a zipper, and this collar definitely caught my eye. We’ve been seeing a few of these posture collars more recently, and I’m really enjoying them.

Next on my new hit list was this transparent shirt from Immerschoen. I know Immerschoen has been around a while, but this was my first visit — and these transparent shirts are really a terrific buy, if you like that sort of thing (which I very much do!). The shirt is sexy and fun, and when you don’t want to go completely bare underneath, the package includes an invisible bra [which basically hides your nipples], and some pasties. So — see — its a day to evening look 😉

Many thanks to Mouse for making these terrific bangles MOD! A lot of folks aren’t these days — but sometimes you need to do more than just resize a piece. I wanted to wear these because of the fabulous buckles (my other love besides zippers) — but needed to tint them to coordinate with the outfit. I was thrilled to be able to do so!!
