Nissa Nightfire in the Second Life World

New Releases from Magpie * Designs by Nissa Nightfire

Goth-Collection-Release

Magpie is pleased to release a brand new collection, in stores now. The collection includes coordinating earrings, bracelets, and pendants in four different goth motifs, inset with colored gemstones. Each piece is sold separately. Bracelets and pendants are already fitted for alternate attachment points, and the bracelets include a coordinating set of plain silver bracelets to help complete your look. For the first time, in this collection, I have used an oval-shaped bracelet — for a more natural, cuff-like fit around your wrist. All pieces are modifiable for fine-tuning a custom fit.

In The Corn Field

cornfield_006

Ever since I heard the legend… I’ve wanted to visit the corn field. Its very existence is evidence of what makes a virtual world so very real … a history… a sense of place… existing long before I was rezzed, but something to share with someone I’ve only recently met. Today, I told my new friend Eb, an SL-old-timer, that I had gone to the corn field. “What? you mean ‘the’ corn field?” Indeed. As odd as it might seem, this is the stuff that binds us together in a unique community.

I’ve been a very delinquent fashion blogger of late … so on the theory that I can’t wait forever for the perfect moment, I decided to do an impromptu little shoot with what I already had on, enjoying a beautiful fall day, celebrating one of SL’s favorite holidays, in one of SL’s mythical places.

Stokame Artist Colony : Samhain Hunt

Samhain-Poster-Artists

Stokame Artist Colony is hosting its first Samhain hunt, from now thru October 31st. The Stokame Artist Colony is a small community of both established and newer content creators living and working on the beautiful Osa Menor sim. If you haven’t visited this sim before, now is a great time! The Mercado has been decorated for the season, you can pick up many Halloween-themed items in the SAC Pumpkin Patch, and hunt for free prizes from SAC merchants.

The Samhain Hunt is a small, easy, and fun hunt … there are 21 different prizes available, which will be randomly rezzed in the form of Jack-O-Lanterns (like the ones in the poster above) in the shops and open areas of the Mercado. Find and click a Jack-O-Lantern, and the prize is yours!

You don’t need to leave the Mercado to find all the prizes — but while you’re here, be sure to check out Diesel Work’s beautiful main store, and take a look at some of the residential areas as well. There are still residential and commercial vacancies on Osa Menor — at some of the most economical prices around!

Newness from All Over~

oct-3-09

(click on the picture to view larger sizes — you’ll want to see a closeup of this necklace!)

With the jewelry fair behind us, I’m delighted to get back to some fashion blogging!  And — this is the kind of post I love to do — overflowing with gorgeous newness~

I have to start with this amazing necklace from Inca Temple, which I first saw at the Jewelry Fair. It’s a terrific 254 prims of mostly-sculptie micro-goodness — lush, detailed, and well-crafted. Inca Temple has a diverse range of jewelry, much of it intended for role-play and/or historical dress. Perhaps an ancient Minoan priestess wore something similar to this lovely necklace — but I’m delighted to feature it with an elegant, contemporary look as well. It’s well worth a trip to Inca Temple to check out their full range — including historical, fantasy, goth, “adult”, and vintage.

The simple and elegant clothing I’m wearing is from Elymode. The corset is a new release — and the white color is a limited edition — available for a very short time! The skirt is not new, but a terrific companion to the corset. I’ve long been an admirer of Ely’s photography, and am enjoying seeing her branch out into clothing. Pieces like the ones I’m wearing were created to be versatile pieces that can be mixed and matched with a variety of other pieces — and Ely has succeeded beautifully. What is not so surprising, but still delightful to see, is that the pieces are wonderfully made. The textures are terrific, and the movement on that skirt is gorgeous. (you’ll have to take my word on that!)

I’ve absolutely fallen in love with Exodi’s newest skin, Lily. This makeup is currently available at the skin fair as a free gift. And, some newness from Truth — the Ana hair. Pretty much all of Truth’s hair is lovely — but I find this one particularly wearable every day — the length and movement is just what I like in a day-to-day hair.
