Nissa Nightfire in the Second Life World

SWA Shorts, Sn@tch, and Cake — Yum!

In my part of the world, summer approaches. And one of the best things about summer is wearing shorts! SWA has recently released a slew of new shorts, in various colors and patterns (hmm… perhaps I’m being a bit boring by choosing the black ones — they are all terrific!) I already own every set of capris SWA has produced — and I’m delighted to add these wardrobe staples to the collection~

To top off my extra-skimpy outfit is this new-ish top from Sn@tch. I love the fabric texture, and the cute cut of the top. This one is perfect for sultry summer weather — dress it up or dress it down~

Don’t forget about Violet Voltaire’s closing sale — only until May 16. This terrific cake necklace is her last release — but she’s got almost her entire stock on sale now. If you need to round out your collection, now would be the time to do it!

Candace ~from Genesis

It is my honor and pleasure to show you the fabulous new skin release from Genesis, Candace. As with her first skin, Eden, it has been tremendous fun to watch Ryker Beck’s work in progress, and then to see the final result. And, the final result is gorgeous! The immense amount of work and care Ryker is putting into her skins really shows.

If this skin isn’t in stores yet, it will be any minute — with eight fabulous spring makeups (and more to come in the future, I believe).

This entire look started with this terrific jewelry set from Primagine. This set exemplifies what I like best in jewelry — substantial enough to be seen from a reasonable distance, but not overwhelmingly large. And — the delightful flower in the necklace makes this perfect summer jewelry — even for the beach, I’d say!

The other piece of newishness I’m wearing today is this great hair style from Diversity (note that I tinted the hair slightly). This is a lovely shorter style, again, perfect for summer~

Artilleri ~Vicky

One of my earliest purchases in SL was the wonderful Vicky dress from Artilleri. I was thrilled to see these revamped shirt-only versions show up on the shelves. The shading is excellent, and makes a terrific basic shirt. There are also something like 10 different patches that you can add to the shirt (on the jacket layer). And — I’m completely in love with this collar! I find collars tremendously difficult to fit — this one seems to just be part of the shirt with no effort on my part! If pink isn’t your favorite color — there are several more to choose from!

Newness from Tuli ~Group Gift

Just a quick post to show you the latest group gift from Tuli. This gorgeous skin is the prototype for her newest skin, Faith. I’m not sure when we might see this in stores, but I can tell you I’m going to need some more makeups for this one!

Hexed Sale

Hexed is having a superb clearance sale right now — I believe it ends on the 17th. There are some great values to be had — and I’m a big fan of Kya Eliot’s work, so be sure to check out her store, if you haven’t already. After the sale, she’s closing down for a few months — I wish her a speedy return 🙂

All I added to this adorable outfit were the fishnets from Sn@tch, and my favorite boots~ And, of course very cool hair and skin 🙂

Shit Luck and Sable Rose

A quick, casual look for a casual Friday!

First, I want to show you this terrific little tank top from Shit Luck. If you haven’t visited this store yet, you really should — I’ve been very impressed with all the pieces I’ve gotten thus far. CK Winx does an awesome job with her texturing — the fabric, shading, and edges are all great. And — her designs are very reasonably priced — which just lets me buy more!

The perfect accessories for this look come from Sable Rose, the new-ish brainchild of the fabulous Rosie Barthelmess. You’ve all seen the handcuff necklace, which really is as terrific as it looks. But, I also fell in love with this snakeskin cuff! The irridescent color is one of my favorites.

(more new-to-me hair from Calico Ingmann — this could definitely be a wear-every-day style!)

Calico and LoveLace

This is an outfit that came together fairly effortlessly, and that I just adore. And — I get to talk to you about something new-ish, and something not so terribly old. The look actually started with these very interesting and well-done sleeves, which are not new at all — but were new to me, and I absolutely fell in love with them. Since I didn’t think I could really put together a fashion post with sleeves alone, the hunt for the rest of the look began.

What better piece than a corset to go with the sleeves? And what better corset to use than one from the LoveLace collection at Pixel Dolls? I chose this one for the coloring, but every single corset in the collection is delectable — and very reasonably priced!

The actual new-ishness (at least at the time I took this picture) is the fabulous new hair from Calico Ingmann Designs. This is my very first hair from Calico (gasp!) I’ve been eyeing many of her pieces for some time now, but this terrific dreadlocked style pushed me over the edge. It had a drama that I thought was perfect for this look. You can’t tell from the picture, of course, but the whole head of hair has a wonderful movement to it. Now that I’ve broken the ice, you are sure to see a few more of these hairs on my head 🙂

Fashionable Relay Challenge #28

Last week was a bit of a blogging slump for me — okay, maybe even a little more than a week. But, when my number finally came up in the Fashionable Relay Challenge, I knew it was time to get moving! Terry Toland gave me this sweet look to work with — and serendipity did the rest. I decided to carry on the cute shoes from Dilly Dolls — a store that I’d heard of but had not yet explored. These shoes were a lovely treat! I love the pattern — argyle, or perhaps harlequin if you are feeling a bit whimsical (as I was). And — both the shoe, and the decorative buttons are scripted for a large number of colors! I can’t even do the math for the number of potential combinations.

Here is where serendipity took over — Sn@tch sent out a message about some newness, including these terrific pants that I fell for hook, line, and sinker. I knew that these pants would have to be worked into my look somehow. Thank goodness for the shoe versatility mentioned above! One thing led to another, and this crazy-fun look evolved. My companion this morning, and sometimes fashion muse, took one look, and said “You’re… colorful this morning”. I’m guessing that is NOT code for “you’re gorgeous and I want to ravish you”, but something more like “who let you out of the house like that?” Never mind — I’ve got a special poem for you at the end of the post 🙂

After all this, my neutral gray background didn’t look quite right — so I put together a little technicolor set. I don’t look so out of place there now, do I? Please take note that if you thought Greene Concept’s new-ish Emphasis chair was a little plain — take a close look at this one. It’s purple, and it came that way! (please forgive the small size on the photo — I’m having technical difficulties, and didn’t want to hold up the relay!)

Next up in the challenge is Elisabeth Villiers at Ou La La Mode

Put Something In

Draw a crazy picture,
Write a nutty poem,
Sing a mumble-gumble song,
Whistle through your comb.
Do a loony-goony dance
‘Cross the kitchen floor,
Put something silly in the world
That ain’t been there before.
