Goodbye July

I know that most folks are probably still looking forward to another month of summer. But, in my world, August is the end of summer — vacations over, preparing for back-to-school, new website launches, and blistering weather (not the fun-in-the-sun kind!). So, I’m always a little sad to see July go.

Today, I’m wearing some wonderful separates from Second Wave Apparel. The summer halter top is Sioxie Legend’s latest release, and a great addition to your summer wardrobe. As always, Sioxie gives you a variety of colors to choose from, and she provides the shirt on all layers (great for that upcoming fall/winter layering!). Don’t miss the sweet twisted detail in the back! These halters are currently priced at L$50, but I believe this is a limited-time offer.

I’ve paired the halter with another favorite from Second Wave Apparel — the wonderful perfect fit capris. I think I own every pattern of these, and they have been staples in my wardrobe all spring and summer. The fabric texture, and the button/belt loop/waistband/pocket details are all perfect!

Silent Sparrow: Skully Rock Shirt

Another fabulous release from the talented Hyasynth Tiramisu at Silent Sparrow! One of Hya’s strengths is her wonderful and detailed fabric design — and this shirt is no exception. Be sure to click on the image to see a bigger image on my flickr page. The skull and swirl design is richly detailed, and the lacing and buttons are superb. Each shirt includes a bright color (like the one I’m wearing), and a more subdued version. Each purchase also includes these cute little skully ear plugs [which I'm pretty much wearing like earrings -- it works].

I paired this shirt with some of my all-time favorite striped pants from Schadenfreude, and sculpted boots from Katat0nik. Three of my favorite designers in one outfit! This is going to be a good day!

Hi all — I’ve got a busy, busy RL week this week, so commentary may be even shorter and sweeter than usual! The story here is this great set of boots from Kata0nik. The little sculpted bows and skulls running up the side of the boot are simply fabulous! In a variety of colors — sure to be one of my wardrobe staples!

My Lucky Day

What a happy day! You would have thought it was my birthday! First thing this morning I joined the Lucky Chair crowd at Silent Sparrow. Hya was there and kept things moving! This amazing and lovely dress was my prize. Since it is still Freaky Friday here — I let my AV of the day (just seems like she should have a name — other than mine!) wear this incredible outfit.

As if that wasn’t enough — later in the day Katat0nik released her very first hair! Its adorable, its scripted for about 13 color changes [bow and hair separately], and its on sale! If you missed the stampede to Axis Mundi earlier this afternoon — go now!  I have a feeling we are in for a lot of hair-goodness from Kat

Freaky Friday

I had so much fun with last week’s Freaky Friday post, I thought I’d do it again. Last week, I put a new skin on my usual shape. This week, I thought I’d try my hand at creating a shape to work with the skin I’m wearing. I’ve always been a little bit intimidated by those sliders — but was feeling brave last week! I fell in love with this group gift Gala Phoenix skin, and decided to work with that. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out! I may try a little more of this shape-shifting stuff

The hair is another take-whatever-color-is-on-sale expedition to Diversity Hair– and I think it looks fabulous! I love the adorable topknot, and the wonderful shine to the texture.

I Want Candy!

I could not resist these adorable melting candy tops from momo! The melting candy part, and the polka dot part are different layers, and you get different colors of each — so you can mix and match a lot of different ways. Its unusual, fun, and really well done. And — check out my hair! No, it’s not red! You might remember my post last Friday about trying new things. Right around that time, Diversity released a few new hairs. It’s her practice to mark one color down significantly for a very short time after the release. So — I decided to buy whichever color pack was on sale, whether it was my usual thing or not. I absolutely fell in love with this style (Edgy) — and the white/gray pack is fabulously fun, and inspired this entire outfit!

Strawberry Dreams

When Katat0nik has a new release, you can be sure I’ll be there! I know you thought I was going to buy the pink one — but I decided to surprise you! Plus, I had these divine copper shoes from Shiny Things that I knew would look great with this outfit

This is the new Strawberry Dreams outfit from Katat0nik. I’m wearing light orange, but it comes in several different colors — you can check out the green one here. Aside from the terribly cute concept for this dress (check out the adorable strawberries on all the bows!) — Kat’s textures are impeccable as always. The sharp detail in her fabrics just makes me smile every time I look at one of her pieces. The outfit comes with lots of pieces for many mix-and-match options. I’m particularly fond of the cropped sweater — I’m sure you’ll see it in some future mixes

I Feel Pretty ~ Oh So Pretty

Annah Whitfield’s most recent release is the Hollywood Collection — inspired by the glamour of 1950’s Hollywood. I’m wearing Loren — yes, you guessed it — inspired by Sophia Loren. I’m wearing my favorite color, pink, of course!  This dress is gorgeous — and just my cup of tea! The piping on the corset top is just the kind of detailing I love. And, with the beautiful movement of the full skirt — who wouldn’t feel like a movie star??  From Annah Whitfield at AnnaH Couture.

This outfit screamed for black pearls, which I didn’t own a single set of! What a great excuse to go pick up the new knotted pearls from EarthStones — they are truly spectacular!
