Newness from Vanitas Vesture — Craw Fish!!
I know that some of you are going to fall off your chairs to see a blog post from me two days in a row — but the new shirt from Vanitas Vesture is just too cute not to blog about! Designer SarahTheRed Aurbierre took a little break of sorts from SL a few months ago — but I’m delighted to see her still designing, and releasing newness. This terrific craw fish tshirt was in my inventory as soon as I saw it released! For me, it evokes memories of Texas/Louisiana — my home for many years. Its the perfectly worn, slouchy tshirt that I could live in most every day! I especially love the asymmetrical neckline — just enough to be a little bit out of the ordinary~ (Check Sarah’s picks for all the places you can find Vanitas Vesture — I picked mine up at Winterstock)

New Friends & Old Favorites
This is one of my favorite sort of photo to do — a few new-ish things, together with some old favorites I use again and again. I’m wearing the latest release from Exodi, the Sienna skin. Ryker Beck is meticulous with all the work she puts out, and this is no exception. This is a beautifully executed skin, and I expect it will become one of my regulars. And, speaking of meticulous work, this corset and skirt from Schadenfreude is fantastic! I’m especially in love with the crisp lines on the corset, and I adore the bright colors Allegory is working with now. I’d like to buy up her whole inventory!!
I’m wearing some other pieces that everyone should have some version of — and these specific pieces are terrific, well-made choices: fishnets, kick-ass boots, and a black leather jacket! By the way — this jacket from Acid & Mala is extremely versatile, including a variety of sleeve, and collar options, and a vest option — all in the same package!

A Voice
I thought long and hard about how I might respond to the call for a boycott. I thought so long and hard about it, and then got distracted by some unrelated stupidity, that I didn’t get this posted yesterday as planned! I don’t plan to go through all the various points and counter-points that have been flying fast and furious in recent days. I’ve heard substantive things on both sides that I can understand.
What I will say is that I’ve been incredibly disappointed every time I’ve heard a person suggest that members of this community who do not completely agree with them should just be quiet and get or stay out of the way. My response is to share my own voice — because I can, and because I should, without fear of being put on someone’s “list”. We should all be able to do at least that much in this community.
The voice I choose today, and most every day I blog, is one of celebration of some of the amazing designers whose talent and work I enjoy daily. They make my life in SL rich, interesting, and diverse. I admire their art, their humor, and their passion for what they do. It’s my honor to buy their work, and share it on my blog.

Bella and Gloomy~
It was such a joy to sit down and put together this blog post for you! I’ve got some newness to show you from some of my favorite designers. Tuli is finally back — hurray! — and has finished up her gorgeous Bella skin line (being released in stores on Friday). The skin is stunning, as always, and I’m especially fond of the smattering of freckles!
Silent Sparrow has also released some new separates that I could not wait to get my hands on. The curlique edging on this corset and shrug set is just terrific — making this an interesting and unique set. I’m a huge fan of hya’s textures, and her craftsmanship is always impeccable. Add some coordinating jeans to the mix, and you’ve got a versatile set.

New Releases from Magpie * Designs by Nissa Nightfire
Magpie is pleased to release a brand new collection, in stores now. The collection includes coordinating earrings, bracelets, and pendants in four different goth motifs, inset with colored gemstones. Each piece is sold separately. Bracelets and pendants are already fitted for alternate attachment points, and the bracelets include a coordinating set of plain silver bracelets to help complete your look. For the first time, in this collection, I have used an oval-shaped bracelet — for a more natural, cuff-like fit around your wrist. All pieces are modifiable for fine-tuning a custom fit.
Click the links below, or visit Magpie in-world to see the other motifs in this collection!

In The Corn Field
Ever since I heard the legend… I’ve wanted to visit the corn field. Its very existence is evidence of what makes a virtual world so very real … a history… a sense of place… existing long before I was rezzed, but something to share with someone I’ve only recently met. Today, I told my new friend Eb, an SL-old-timer, that I had gone to the corn field. “What? you mean ‘the’ corn field?” Indeed. As odd as it might seem, this is the stuff that binds us together in a unique community.
I’ve been a very delinquent fashion blogger of late … so on the theory that I can’t wait forever for the perfect moment, I decided to do an impromptu little shoot with what I already had on, enjoying a beautiful fall day, celebrating one of SL’s favorite holidays, in one of SL’s mythical places.

Stokame Artist Colony : Samhain Hunt
Stokame Artist Colony is hosting its first Samhain hunt, from now thru October 31st. The Stokame Artist Colony is a small community of both established and newer content creators living and working on the beautiful Osa Menor sim. If you haven’t visited this sim before, now is a great time! The Mercado has been decorated for the season, you can pick up many Halloween-themed items in the SAC Pumpkin Patch, and hunt for free prizes from SAC merchants.
The Samhain Hunt is a small, easy, and fun hunt … there are 21 different prizes available, which will be randomly rezzed in the form of Jack-O-Lanterns (like the ones in the poster above) in the shops and open areas of the Mercado. Find and click a Jack-O-Lantern, and the prize is yours!
You don’t need to leave the Mercado to find all the prizes — but while you’re here, be sure to check out Diesel Work’s beautiful main store, and take a look at some of the residential areas as well. There are still residential and commercial vacancies on Osa Menor — at some of the most economical prices around!
